Come Through was both a shared evening and an experiment in co-producing an event for the community. Jordan and I created a sculptural installation in the space involving specific arrangements of chairs, fans blowing fabric, and hand-made fans. The evening became a kind of spatial and social choreography, with the dancers and performers serving also as a kind of DIY production team, assisting with photography, videography, and set changes.

I presented my work Weather, a collection of three duets performed by Catie Leasca, Justin Faircloth, jess pretty, Jasmine Hearn, and myself.

Shared show COME THROUGH with choreographer Jordan Demetrius Lloyd. A dance of three disparate duets WEATHER maps choreography of personal folklore as related to transitional identity and conditions of collaboration through partnership. Reflecting on histories of dance training and moments of transformation, performers - Justin Faircloth, Jasmine Hearn, Catie Leasca, Jess Pretty and Jessie Young - sweep through a terrain of parallel play, personal devotion and magical thinking. WEATHER is one part of a larger project that will culminate in an evening-length show at Brooklyn Studios for Dance in February 2019. Video by Intrinsic Grey
